From light to cellular energy
Light therapy sounds like a marketing buzzword until you look at what's actually happening at the cellular level. Specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light penetrate the skin and are absorbed by mitochondria - the energy-producing part of your cells - triggering them to produce more ATP, the fuel cells use to repair and regenerate. This process is called photobiomodulation, and it's been studied in clinical settings since the 1960s, originally in wound healing and later in dermatology.
Not the same as sun exposure
Unlike UV light, which damages skin, red and near-infrared wavelengths sit outside the UV spectrum entirely - there's no burning, no tanning, no skin-damaging radiation involved. That distinction is why it's cleared for daily at-home use.
